Rugby Australia has today paid tribute to veteran prop Ben Alexander who became just the fifth Australian player to play 150 Super Rugby matches in the Brumbies’ clash with the Lions in Johannesburg yesterday.
Alexander is the first Brumbies player to hit the landmark and joins just eleven others in Super Rugby history who have played 150 matches, including Australians Stephen Moore, Nathan Sharpe, George Smith and Tatafu Polota-Nau.
I have been in my role as Chief Executive of Rugby Australia for four months. These conversations have covered a diverse range of topics from community Rugby to professional Rugby, the business of Rugby, and everything in between. The Qantas Australian Women's Sevens side have finished with Silver at the HSBC Canada Sevens after going down to New Zealand in the Cup Final in Langford.
Australia defeated Fiji and France to progress through to the Final but New Zealand overpowered their great rivals to take the crown at Westhills Stadium.
