TNT Involvement in Refereeing

TNT Express have been a proud sponsor of Australian Rugby Referees since 2005. Its logo has been a familiar sight on referees at Super Rugby matches and other ARU representative fixtures in Australia since then, as clearly seen in the photo gallery below of TNT’s jersey sponsorship through the years.

At the end of January, 2014, TNT extended its partnership with Australian Rugby Union for another three years until the end of 2016. Australian Rugby Union CEO Bill Pulver has thanked TNT Express for its ongoing support of Australian Rugby.

“I am delighted that TNT Express is continuing its support of referees at Australian Super Rugby matches and I am excited by their commitment to create a number of unique programs for our match officials. Match officials are essential to our game and ensure it is played according to our values, particularly respect. We appreciate having a partner like TNT Express that supports and invests in referees from the grassroots through to the elite level.”

Development initiatives - TNT Junior Referee Clinic

TNT has also supported development initiatives such as the TNT Junior Referee Clinic, which has been held at Riverview College for the past several years at the National U16s Championships and the National Schools Championships. The aim of this clinic is to engage younger referees in Years 10 and 11, improve their understanding of both the Game itself and effective refereeing, and demonstrate a pathway they may possibly take to higher honours. The TNT Junior Referee Clinic will take place again in 2016 on Thursday 7th July.
