Rugby Australia has established the following Serious Injury Protocol and Report for all use
by all Rugby Bodies - Clubs, Schools and Unions who participate in the game of Rugby.
A Serious Injury Report must be completed for the following match or training related injuries:

Serious Injury Reporting allows for the accurate gathering of serious injury data within Rugby. The completion of these reports
provides valuable information in relation to the nature, cause, and extent of serious injuries in the game, and allows Rugby AU to provide strategies to reduce the impact of injuries and improve the management of injuries in the game.
The protocol is to be followed in the event of a serious injury to a player's head or neck (ie: suspected spinal injury) or fatality is as below:
Rugby Australia Serious Injury Case Manager Rugby Australia has appointed a Serious Injury Case
Manager (SICM) to assist in managing traumatic injuries. The SICM is your first point of contact in the event of a
serious injury to a player's head or neck (ie: suspected spinal injury) or fatality and will provide a link between the
club/school and Rugby Australia.
